Positive Self-Talk: How to incorporate it into your Everyday Life
I read a quote once that went something like this. “Don’t talk to yourself in a way that you wouldn’t talk to someone else.” When I read that it hit me like a sack of Nokia 3310's. It made me realize how toxic some of thoughts are. I wouldn’t tell my friends “you can never do anything right” or “you're so stupid” so why am I telling myself this? We all take jabs at ourselves internally from time to time. When we do, it could be a response to the littlest things like forgetting your charger or bumping into a wall. In some cases it could be a response to something a little more serious like failing a class or not getting your dream job. Regardless of the situation, it is important to monitor the things we say to ourselves. A small thought could seem insignificant but it actually is quite the opposite.
